This video tutorial, part 1 of 2, is from my "An Evening in the Studio" series on my Patreon, Patreon.com/danthompsonart. The lesson was filmed while I created my replica of a Nicolai Fechin (1881-1955) figure drawing. I drew this copy in both vine as well as compressed charcoal, in order to first emulate, and climactically learn from, a host of remarkable characteristics which embody Fechin’s original drawing.
