The Painter's Draftsman: Copying Georges Seurat
The unmistakable drawings left to us by Georges Seurat (French 1859–1891) reveal an enigmatic, peerless artist. This course will explore Seurat’s story, his powers of design and the ambiance woven through Seurat’s unique, non-linear Conté crayon technique. Students will copy Seurat's drawings and compositions, and emerge ready to develop a serene presence in their own artwork.
Day 1 - June 1st: Seurat’s biography, his early influences and envisioning the nature of the master's master copy.
