$395.00

14 APRIL & 28 APRIL, 2024 - 10:00 A.M.—5:00 P.M.

PRIVATE ZOOM WORKSHOP, ONLINE STUDIES

PURPOSE OF THE COURSE:

One of the perennial challenges and most misunderstood regions of portraiture is the cheekbone area (known anatomically as the Zygomatic Arch). This course has been designed to concentrate on the Zygomatic morphology in head drawing. As a constructive cornerstone of architecture, studies will include the elusive facial landmarking associated with the Zygoma, and its idealized topography. Students will gain an uncommon level of understanding as they learn to “see” zygomatic spatial arrangement. All skill levels are welcome.

Beginning with a lecture/demonstration for each session, the greater cheekbone will be drawn live and, inspired by the human skull, formally considered through hatchmark. Registrants will retain a recording (for personal use) of all sessions. By temporarily transforming the Zygomatic into a “feature,” students should emerge from this course enabled by informed insight. The course has been designed intentionally, the sessions being two weeks apart, in order to provide students with sufficient time to develop and contemplate their drawing exercises.
